So, what’s involved in bringing a FIDO Plus project to life?
It Starts with Purpose
Every FIDO Plus project begins with a simple but powerful goal: to help utilities and communities reduce water loss. That might sound straightforward, but the journey from contract to clean data, repaired leaks and validated, auditable results is built on a series of carefully considered steps that prioritise transparency, collaboration, and local knowledge.
We work with utilities, deployment partners, and corporations to align goals and set targets. Real impact goes beyond simple volumetric goals on water replenishment. As well as rapidly reducing leaks in the near term, we also improve institutional capacity through smarter operations, and deliver sustainable water resilience.
It’s All About the Process (But Not in a Boring Way)
The FIDO Plus process is designed to guide a project from initial planning all the way through to final reporting without being rigid or overwhelming.
Think of it as a rhythm:
- Kick-off & Scoping – Getting everyone around the table to understand the network, the data, and what success looks like.
- Deployment & Investigation – Our sensors go in, the AI gets to work, and our teams begin marking up real, actionable leaks.
- Validation & Repair – Every leak pinpointed is investigated, shared, and repaired by utility teams.
- Tracking & Reporting – We measure everything. How many leaks, how much water saved, how quickly we responded.

Water is precious. Every litre saved helps reduce strain on beleaguered resources, supporting nature, helping communities and economies adapt to the effects of climate change, and improving resilience for future generations. Plus, because water saved means carbon saved, it even contributes to net zero.
We routinely report water and carbon savings, all of which have been independently validated to using the World Resources Institute’s Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting (VWBA) 2.0 methodology – a respected reporting standard.
