FIDO Tech has further strengthened its top team with the appointment of Dermot O’Kelly to the new role of Chief Revenue Officer.

Dermot will develop and deliver the sales strategy for FIDO’s pioneering leak detection AI, building on the company’s existing strength in the UK and expanding its reach into other worldwide markets.

FIDO AI is the world’s first software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to leak detection which automatically identifies leaks and their size to more than 92 per cent accuracy.

Dermot is a 30-year veteran of the IT industry and has been a Senior Vice President for Oracle Corporation for many years as well as recently for Finastra, one of the world’s largest Fintech organisations.

FIDO CEO Victoria Edwards said:

“Dermot’s deep understanding and experience of SaaS technology markets made him the ideal fit for FIDO Tech. He couldn’t be joining us at a more exciting time for FIDO or a more pressing time for the planet.

“In some parts of the world, leaks allow up to 50 per cent of the treated water in public networks to ebb away. FIDO’s deep-learning neural networks give water companies the power to accurately detect leaks by size and location, which is a real game-changer, allowing them to prioritise resource and get to the leaks that matter first.

“I have no doubt Dermot will help us realise the unrivalled potential of this powerful tool by getting it under the noses of the people who have this problem to solve right now.”

For Dermot, FIDO’s ability to solve a real-world problem was precisely what attracted him to work with a successful but relative newcomer technology company after a long and successful career in large established corporates.

“I was attracted because it is a proper use of artificial intelligence to solve a problem of immediate importance. The process of leak detection lends itself to being automated, casting out the inevitable errors of human analysis to say definitively that, yes, there is a leak, and, even more importantly, its exact size. FIDO is clearly a tool to deliver that and it’s got a jump start on any other technology in the field at this moment.

“I’ll be working as fast as possible to establish FIDO as the number one solution on the market to water companies across the world.”

Away from work, Dermot is married with two grown-up children. His interests include cycling and football.
