No. FIDO’s acoustic sensor is completely non-invasive and easy to deploy. It attaches easily onto the surface of any metallic pipe fitting using a small magnet.
Yes. The sensor is small and lightweight at a little over 3 ounces (88g). The magnet is strong enough to securely attach to any fitting and is cleverly designed with teeth to provide extra adhesion.
The app is how you tell the sensors which function you want them to perform and to get your AI results in the field. Even if you are using the sensors as a fixed network monitoring solution incorporating IoT data upload, the app is still needed for sensor deployment.

Yes. Thanks to their high quality digital microphone, FIDO acoustic sensors are sensitive enough to pick up tiny sounds, even on plastic pipes.
Because sound doesn’t travel such long distances through plastic, we recommend placing sensors closer together on these systems to avoid blind spots. FIDO AI will analyze your GIS data and automatically identify optimum deployment locations for the coverage you need so you can be sure you get the best result for your needs.
