A NEW smartphone app for water professionals has been launched today in a bid to drive down the cost and expand the reach of AI-powered non-revenue water (NRW) technology around the world. 

The FIDOSmart app gives engineers access to FIDO AI across the entire NRW value chain – from fixed network monitoring to mobile data logging, correlation, ground sounding and more – all using the same portable low-cost device. 

It can also verify leak repairs, profile consumption and even be used to detect water theft.

Versatile low-cost sensors do it all

The app interacts with simple FIDO sensors and the power of volumetric FIDO AI to analyse tiny nuances in acoustic and kinetic data in water pipeline networks and detect leaks and their size at speed and at scale.

It is now available by subscription to one of FIDO’s advanced leak detection and network monitoring products, Leak Locate and Network Monitor. Each subscription requires a one-off hardware purchase and includes unlimited data processing.

The FIDOSmart app is designed for optimal usability and requires minimal training. Its intuitive user interface includes multiple language options, guided workflows and a GPT-powered assistant, AskFIDO, to make new users field-ready within an hour.

The accompanying versatile FIDO sensors need no charging or ongoing calibration and deploy magnetically. There’s no need for additional outlay on equipment like correlators or geo microphones. With FIDO AI any sensor can perform any function and they are so light and portable that a single technician can place around 40 on a water network in a morning.

Add-on telemetry for fixed network monitoring

A simple optional IoT telemetry Relay device can also be deployed with sensors to turn each one into a fixed network monitor which delivers daily leak waypoints ranked by size for prioritised investigation.

Plus, because FIDO AI gathers and analyses 1,000s of files a second automatically, it reduces the speed of analysis potentially reducing leak run time. It is also unaffected by the limitations of human listening so no leaks are missed.

The complete FIDO AI system includes the FIDO Smart app, multi-function FIDO sensors, optional telemetry devices and access to FIDO AI in the cloud.
